Skinny is beautiful: How to lose almost 20 pounds in a month
Please keep in mind results will vary and not everyone can lose 20 pounds in one month. It depends on your body, but these tips will help!
- Try to eat 4 small meals a day. This keeps your metabolism going and prevents your hunger from striking!
- Eat raw vegetables before each meal.
- Take 1 scoop…
(via pinkiipromise)
It was quite easy, actually.
- 300 calories or less a day, except for two days of the week, when I ate 400 and 600
- 30 minutes minimum of exercise everyday, always do 100 crunches the second I wake up.
- I weigh myself everyday. I’m OBSESSED with the scale.
- No pasta, and overall no real carbs besides sweet potatoes and these 110 calorie thin bagels I have.
- No soft drinks, even zero calorie ones. Only water, and HOT green tea. I switch up the flavors though, mango green tea, peach green tea, and lemon green tea.
- I drink one glass of tea, and one glass of water at each meal, one before, and one in between every bite I eat. And I drink a glass of tea in between every meal if I get hungry.
- LOADS OF VEGGIES (especially water filled ones, like cucumbers and eggplants and mushrooms) and only grapefruit and blueberries as far as fruits go.
- Protein at at least 2 meals of the day. (eggbeaters, egg whites, tofu, veggie burger, salmon, tilapia, edamame, etc).
It might sound like a lot of work, but these have become thoughtless processes for me. But do what makes your body happy! And eating like this always keeps my belly full and body happy!
Power Food Combos
Alright, first things first: this blog is based on facts. Scientific support. Anything related to exercise or dietary health is going to be based on valid evidence, unless my personal opinion is asked for. So let’s get started!
Anyone looking for a quick way to boost their health needs to incorporate these foods into their diet! When consumed together, the 10 power-combos below will provide extremely beneficial and lasting results…
Power Food Combos:
- Spinach & Beets: According to dietitian Joanne Larsen, dark green, leafy vegetables like spinach and kale are best eaten in combination with another veggie high in vitamin C like beets because iron absorption in your intestines in improved by Vitamin C.
- Tomatoes & Olive Oil: Greeks consume more of these two ingredients per capita than anyone else, and they have higher life expectancies than Americans. Tomatoes are rich in lycopene (an antioxidant), which has been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers. It’s also fat-soluble, which means combining it with a healthy, monounsaturated fat like olive oil helps boost absorption even more.
- Beef & Carrots: Vitamin A in carrots is best absorbed when bound to a protein. Plus, the beef delivers an extra dose of zinc, which protects against the weakening of the immune system.
- Green Tea & Lemon: Green tea is packed with antioxidants, revs up metabolism, and keeps you hydrated. When you add lemon to your green tea bev, your body absorbs 13 times as many more antioxidants than when consumed on it’s own!
- Fish & Garlic: A personal favorite. The cholesterol-reducing fish oils and heart-healthy garlic can act as an anti-inflammatory agent.
- Red Meat & Rosemary: Red meat isn’t typically considered a healthy food, but every now and then, we’re going to order steak. The antioxidants rosmarinic acid and carnosic acid (both found in rosemary) soak up and neutralize the meat’s free radicals (which play a key role in causing signs of aging).
- Orange Juice & Oatmeal: The combination of these morning basics has been shown to prevent heart attacks and clean arteries twice as effectively as ingesting either one on it’s own. The organic compounds called phenols (found in both) stabilize cholesterol levels when consumed together. Tip: Go for old-fashioned rolled oats in lieu of instant.
- Apples & Red Wine: Apples contain an anti-inflammatory flavanoid called quercetin while red wine contains the flavanoid catechin. Together, they prevent blood clots and improve cardiovascular function. Tip: Try 5-star sangria!
- Blueberries & Grapes: A convenient snacking option for those on-the-go. Both of these fruits are packed with antioxidants and when eaten together actually have a greater antioxidant response than one fruit eaten alone. Tip: Try adding them to yogurt or smoothies!
- Nuts & Seeds & Dry Fruit: They’re all high in protein and contain little water making for a much quicker and efficient digestion!
I’m always afraid I’m going to waste my youth being fat :(
I don’t want to get into my 30s or 40s without ever falling in love or being with someone. And I know I’m not going to get that until I’m comfortable with myself.
And I know that just isn’t going to happen until I’m a lot thinner. I’ve tried before, it’s just not possible for me in this body.
when i stopped being vegan i gained a shitload of weight, so. yeah, i’m going veg again.
